Oasis Pavilion – An Exploration of Solid and Void (Temporary Installation)
Oasis is a sensory pavilion that challenges conventional ideas of enclosure by using light, water, and air as primary architectural elements. A square volume made of thousands of hanging translucent tubes defines the outer boundary—a porous, shimmering jungle visitors are invited to explore. Inside, shifting light and gentle reflections blur the line between interior and exterior.
At the heart of the pavilion lies a circular void—an open-air oasis enclosed by a curtain of water. This serene, sky-lit space offers shade, stillness, and refuge from the surrounding environment. Drawing inspiration from Laozi’s reflections on emptiness, the pavilion places value on the void, suggesting that spatial experience—rather than formal expression—is the true essence of architecture.
